Mayuri Gonzalez

Mayuri Gonzalez is a certified vinyasa (E-RYT) and children's yoga (RCYT) teacher who began her own journey studying yoga, meditation, and mindfulness over 25 years ago when she was just 10 years old. Her teaching style is a blend of alignment-based flow inspired by the traditions of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin and Anusara. She brings a rich understanding of therapeutics and a strong meditation practice, and her work integrates yoga, mindfulness, myofascial release, and embodiement practices.

Based on Mayuri's love of children, her own expanding family, and first-hand experience of what these tools can offer young people, it was a natural fit for her to complete her 95+ hour certification with Little Flower Yoga and immerse herself in bringing yoga and mindfulness programs to children and families. She serves as the program director of The School Yoga Project, a program of Little Flower Yoga. For the last 8 years, Mayuri has worked with LFY to manage manages their school-based programs and create new programs and trainings. She supervises teaching staff, directs internal staff development trainings, and coordinates direct service yoga and mindfulness classes for school children, professional development trainings, and self-care programs for in-service educators at over 300 sites in the Greater NYC Area.

Mayuri is an avid student of yoga continually seeking a greater understanding of its many facets and she is eternally grateful to all her teachers and students. Her intention is to guide students to a deeper access and integration of heart, mind and body, so we can move through life with greater health, joy, freedom and ease. Forever a student, Mayuri has completed trainings with Mindful Schools, The Lineage Project, The Accessible Yoga Project, Integral Yoga, and is a graduate of the Spiritual Leadership Training with Harshada Wagner and Living Meditation and Spirit Junkie Master Class with Gabbie Bernstein.

Mayuri teaches teacher trainings, workshop, special series, and private lessons in the Pelham, NY area and online. Her work draws on creative inspiration from life and community, and encompasses themes that connect with transformational teachings with everyday living.

As a frequent speaker at conferences including the Kripalu Yoga in Schools Symposium, Bridging the Hearts and Minds of Youth, the Omega Mindfulness in Education Conference and the Yoga Service Conference, Argos is an important member of the yoga in schools community and a trusted expert with a foot in both the yoga, mindfulness, and education worlds.

His deep passion for empowering children and adolescents, and supporting other education professionals to do the same, is clearly evident in all aspects of his work.

“Some people were born to teach, to connect & to inspire. Mayuri & Argos are those people. Come home to yourself & feel connected through their teachings.”
